Dads have a strong influence on children's language

Description:

Apparently children take language cues from their father more often than their mother. I find this interesting - anecdotally speaking, my son will choose to use the British term for something more often than the Canadian term (ie., nappy vs diaper). My husband is British, and of course I'm Canadian.

British woman becomes a mother at 62

Description:

Sixty-two year old Patricia Rashbrook of Lewes, East Sussex, just gave birth to JJ, 6lb 10oz.

Critics have said that having a child at that age is irresponsible; the parents say they'll be able to provide for the child no problem. Who's correct? Does anyone outside that family have a right to criticize? What if we all started having children so late in life? What does this mean for demographics?
